Texas in July: One Reality Review

Synopsis:
Texas in July is an American metalcore band from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Formed in 2007, the group currently consists of members ranging in ages from 18 to 21. Being previously signed to CI Records, Texas in July released one EP, Salt of the Earth and their debut full-length album, I Am both through CI. Since acquiring the attention of Equal Vision Records, they have been signed to the label and released their second full-length album One Reality on April 26th, 2011 through it.

Review:
Texas in July is truly a band full of young members with amazing instrumental talent. Unfortunately lyrically and sound wise the band is also young and full of mistakes. I could listen to each member play an instrument of their choice solo for hours, but if you made me listen to them as a whole I would walk out. Every single song feels as though there are far too many notes being played which ends up creating nothing but chaotic sound. If anything should be taken from this album it is to keep your eyes on this band, because when they finally get organized they are going to blow everyone’s mind. This album will stand as an example of how greatly this band improved especially with adding more vocal points, which gives this CD a refreshing sound above all the instrumental hell-storm.
