My Ticket Home: To Create A Cure Review

Synopsis:
Formed late august of 2008, My Ticket Home has become a strong staple in the Columbus music scene. Since their release of “Above The Great City” on May 16, 2009, they have had risen to be the top unsigned band in central Ohio. Their newest EP entitled “The Opportunity To Be”was released in November of 2010.

Review:
This album represents several great ideas that were never fully realized. The immediate attraction too many will be that similar sound of Attack Attack. Which makes this seem less original every second, but for those that listen closely a whole new world of potential will be opened up. My Ticket Home has developed some very unique guitar riffs which show a nice variety. There are several nice tracks that land on different spectrums.” The Dream Code” is a softer track that conveys an alternative rock type of feel. On the other end “Fear Complex” starts very eerie and then kicks into a nice sequence of drums and guitar riffs.  While "To Create A Cure" has great variety in tracks it has a Double-Edged Sword effect leaving most confused on their musical direction. There are certainly some finer points that need to be dragged out, however this is a very solid metalcore album to start the 2012 year off with.
