The Ghost Inside: Get What You Give Review

Synopsis:
The Ghost Inside are defined as a melodic hardcore/metalcore band from South Bay, California. Their first release of “Now Or Never” on Mediaskare Records in 2006 was under their old name “A Dying Dream”. With the name change occurring at the start of 2007, The Ghost Inside began to make their mark on the hardcore scene. April 15th 2008 marked the date when they released their debut full-length record titled “Fury and the Fallen Ones”.

Review:
From the start to finish The Ghost Inside hits their stride falling slightly flat in between. Regardless this album showcases how Vigil and his crew have mastered their genre. They have weaved perfection in most cases aside from some subpar lyrical content. With plenty of double bass drumming and stellar guitar riffing the instruments are fine-tuned engines. Now add to that some welcomed melodies and hooks from back vocalist to create a cadence around the aggressive growls. It has been said that The Ghost Inside takes their music very seriously and this album helps cement that ideal. While it does pale a bit in comparison to their debut album it also marks some great improvements. If songs such as “Engine 45” and “Test The Limits” point to anything, it is that The Ghost Inside is here to recreate what we define as Melodic Hardcore/Metalcore. Even with the lapse halfway through the album this is definitely one of the best out this year.
